The Parks Church vision is to be: A Community of People Loving Our City because of the Person Jesus Christ.
We are a community of people. We don’t want to simply “have” community, rather we are a community. This type of community is established supernaturally through the Holy Spirit in Christ. “In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.”
We believe we have been sovereignly placed in this city by God. God has called us to “seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” We are here not for our own good, but the good of our neighbors to declare the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We love because of Jesus.
Jesus’ love reveals 5 Core Truths that guide our church.
The love of Jesus Christ…
Makes Us New
Our identity is found in Christ alone. We have been made new and called to live lives that reflect this change. We are all sinners who have fallen short of the glory of God, but God being rich in mercy has made us alive in Christ.
Anchors Us to Truth
The scriptures are the inspired and infallible word of God and are our final authority. The scriptures secure us and protect us from being tossed around by every new idea. We preach the Word and trust it to accomplish God’s purposes in our lives.
Calls Us to One Another
As Christians we are saved into community, not isolation. We desire to live in deep relationship with one another and intentionally pursue community with others.
Compels Us to Serve
We bring glory to God when we lay down our lives in service to others. We serve the needs of our faith family and the needs of our city in order to shine the light of Jesus into the darkness.
Sends Us Out
Jesus commands us to go and make disciples everywhere. We are passionate about sending out people and resources for the work of the Kingdom of God in our city, state, nation, and world.
