Melissa ISD – Our local school district is the largest employer in our city and serves the largest population in our city. We have committed to serving in our schools and supporting the organizations who invest back into our schools on a consistent basis.
Orphan Care – We haven’t all been called to the same thing, but we have all been called to do something to care for orphans. Here are the personal stories of some of our members.
In addition, The Parks Church of Melissa is a part of the Embrace Church Network (ECN). ECN exists to empower and equip churches to directly serve children and families in our area. Partner churches can link arms to provide a scope of service and voice for advocacy beyond the reach of any individual church. ECN events and efforts are promoted through Embrace’s relationship with Child Protective Services, and a network of local foster/adoptive families, and child welfare organizations.
Melissa Community Outreach – The Melissa Community Outreach is a local program of Go. Be. Hope. that provides food to families who have found themselves in crisis. During the winter months, MCO also distributes coats of all sizes to those who need them. The Parks Church partners with MCO by committing to stocking the mac & cheese and evaporated milk shelves, as well as by organizing food, coat & toiletries drives and having a strong volunteer presence. The Parks Church collects food for MCO on the first Sunday of every month. Donations may also be made at any time by placing them in the donation box located on the porch. The MCO food pantry is located at 3107 McKinney Street in Melissa, adjacent to the Zadow Baseball Fields parking lot. If you would like to serve with us at MCO Food Pantry, email Dena Norton email@example.com
